La Joya ISD Expands Partnership with Hometown, Renewing Ticketing and Adding Online Fundraising with Schoolfundr

LA JOYA, TX - September 22, 2026 — Five years into its official ticketing partnership with Hometown, La Joya Independent School District (La Joya ISD) is renewing Box Office for digital ticketing and expanding the relationship to fundraising with Schoolfundr, Hometown's fee-free fundraising solution. Now the district runs its events and its fundraising through a single trusted partner.

La Joya ISD sits in the Rio Grande Valley, where athletics and activities pack stands across the district's high school campuses throughout the season. Handling those events and the fundraising behind them through one trusted partner means the district's staff learn a single system and lean on a single support team, instead of reconciling a ticketing vendor against a separate fundraising tool.

The Hometown Box Office has anchored that ticketing since 2021. In the years since, La Joya ISD has processed more than 215,000 tickets through the platform, clearing fans through the gate without cash lines and giving campus administrators a live view of sales as each event unfolds.

Schoolfundr now extends that same one-partner approach to fundraising. The district's teams, clubs, and programs can raise money without going door-to-door or selling products, and because Schoolfundr is fee-free, schools keep roughly 97% of every dollar they raise, with only standard credit card fees deducted. Coaches and sponsors launch a mobile-friendly campaign, families and neighbors give online, and the dollars stay with the students who did the work.

That model already carries statewide backing in Texas: Schoolfundr is the official and exclusive fundraising sponsor of the University Interscholastic League (UIL), the governing body for public school athletics and activities across the state. For a UIL member like La Joya ISD, adopting Schoolfundr means choosing a fundraising solution its own governing body has put its name behind.

Together, Box Office and Schoolfundr give La Joya ISD one connected way to sell tickets and raise funds, backed by the same Hometown team.

"Box Office has made our game days easier to run for years, so adding Schoolfundr through the same partner was an easy call," said Jose Peña, Executive Director for Athletics at La Joya ISD. "Our coaches wanted a simpler way to raise money for their programs, and doing it fee-free means more of what our community gives goes straight back to our students."

"La Joya ISD has run its ticketing on Box Office since 2021, and extending that trust to fundraising tells us the connected approach is working for them," said Dennis Levene, CEO of Hometown. "The Rio Grande Valley shows up for its schools, and we are glad to give La Joya's programs a simpler way to turn that support into dollars they keep."

La Joya ISD joins a growing number of Texas districts adopting Hometown’s suite of digital solutions for their events and fundraisers. To learn more about Hometown or to book a personalized demo, visit hometown.com.
